Experiential learning through startup internships equip undergraduates with the skills, perspectives, and network for transforming academic research into real-world solutions.
Summer immersion experiences afford highly motivated UC Berkeley undergraduates first-hand industry experience in startups. Acknowledging that internships in startups can be some of the most rewarding summer experiences, the Bakar BioEnginuity Hub provides the stipend support startups often can’t afford, as well as the direct connection to companies working on a diverse array of innovative technologies.
During the internships, undergraduates complement their academic studies by making tangible contributions in industry projects, while interacting with industry mentors and growing their leadership skills. At internship completion, experiences are shared at a formal industry research symposium.
